Job Title: Software Implementation Consultant
Position Summary:
Provide quality key user and end user training for the LoadMaster® suite of products at new and existing customer sites. Provide phone support to customers during the implementation phase and provide remote training as needed to supplement on-site training. Communicate with customers to fully understand and manage their expectations. Follow up internally to ensure that customer needs and expectations are being met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- During the initial staging of new accounts, verify that the software has been properly installed as outlined in the customer’s contract.
- Prepare detailed Training Agendas that fully outline the scope of training that will be provided.
- Communicate with the customer prior to onsite training so that they fully understand the objective of the training trip.
- Complete and submit travel arrangements to internal travel coordinator.
- Record accurate time and expense entries for billing to the customer. (Time entries should be well documented for the benefit of the customer and McLeod financial department.)
- Prepare expense reports for authorized travel. Provide other documentation to financial department when required.
- Follow procedures outlined in the custom programming workflow documents for custom program modifications.
- Communicate with assigned Programming resource and Quality Assurance Analyst to insure understanding and timely delivery of custom program modifications.
- Keep abreast of new product development at McLeod and trends in the trucking industry. Attend training classes and seminars to continually improve training skills.
- Continually review LoadMaster Documentation and make suggestions for improvements. Notify Documentation Department of required corrections.
- Prepare training materials/handouts when needed. Submit to manager for approval and so that they can be include in the network directory of shared files.
- Respond in a timely manner when customer phones in for technical support. Ensure that the customer’s support questions are answered or continue to provide timely follow-ups if customer’s inquiry has been turned over to programming.
- Provide product training to new employees on an as needed basis.
Qualifications:
- Three years of training experience in a classroom or one-on-one setting with an enterprise or commercial application.
- Strong organizational skills / Ability to multi-task.
- Previous transportation/trucking industry or accounting experience a plus
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Excellent computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications are preferred.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to travel 50 percent. Occasional weekend travel, usually Sunday, may be required.
- Ability to communicate complex concepts to a broad range of customer end-users (professionals and non-professionals).
- Other duties as assigned
Education:
· Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Accounting or Business Management
Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
- CPA (a plus)
- Microsoft Certifications (preferred, not required)
- Teaching / training certifications (preferred, not required)
Work Environment:
- Minimum forty-hour work week. As some support calls may need to be resolved after the customer’s business hours, willingness to work occasional evenings is essential.
- Onsite training for customers varies from conference room for classroom training to working one-on-one at a customer’s desk.
- Some customer locations are smoke free, while others are smoke authorized.
- Some customer locations have high concentration of dust and dirt particles due to type of commodities they carry.
McLeod’s classroom facility is here at our headquarters and is a state of the art training facility.
